Priyamani The 8th Wonder

The Sreenu Vytla and Nagarjuna film, King is at last out. The audience response has been tremendous, and by all accounts the film has been appreciated. Sreenu made a hit with this flick in the last of 2008's films.

One of the highlights of the film has been the song in which Nagarjuna appears with eight heroines. This was one of the most discussed songs, and one was eager to know who would be the sexiest heroine in this song.

Vying for the honors were Trisha, Priya Mani, Anushka, Kamna Jethmalani Genelia, Mamtha Mohandas, Charmee and Sneha Ullal.

Going by the whistles in the theaters on the first day of the show, one could easily say that Priya Mani has walked away with the top honors as the sexiest of the eight. She has been seen recently posing hotly with Nitin for the film Drona, and the audience seems to like every bit of Priya Mani in those hot pictures, surely this has helped Priya Mani in capturing the audience pulse and emerge winner among the eight beauties. Priya Mani surely is the eighth wonder, beating all the rest of the 7 wonders err beauties.

'Roja' lyricist passes away

P K Mishra, who penned lyrics as 'Dil Hai Chhota Sa', 'Choti Si Aasha' from 'Roja', passed away in Chennai.

He was 65 and is survived by his wife and two sons. A long-time Chennai resident, Rajasthan-born Mishra wrote the lyrics for several popular Hindi numbers of the 1990s, when a number of Tamil films were being remade in Hindi. It was the golden period of music director A R Rahman's run in Bollywood, and the two teamed up in many movies after coming together first in Mani Ratnam's Roja' (1993).

He also worked with Ilayaraja and Karthik Raja, and his list of films include Hindusthani', 'Hamse Hai Muqabala', 'Saza-e-Kalapani', 'Duniya Dil Walonki', 'Viswa Vidhata' and 'Love Birds.'

After Tamanna, it’s Vijayalakshmi!

Akil who made an impressive debut in Balaji Sakthivel’s Kalloori had signed on the dotted line for a project titled Valmiki with Meera Nandan directed by Anantha Narayanan. He has completed this film and has now moved on to his next venture Aadukalam to be directed by Thamizhvaanan of Kalvanin Kaadali.

Vijayalakshmi of Chennai-28 fame will be the female lead in this film.

Thamizhvaanan has resorted to a novel way of choosing people for this film by recording other characters in the video and then selecting the apt person for the role. Prakash who has worked with A R Rahman and his nephew G V Prakashkumar will make his debut as the music director for this film. Photo session for the film is slated to begin on the 14th of January.

Adhyayan is not Marrying Kangana: Shekhar Suman

Looks like Shekhar Suman has decided to become a spokesperson for his son. He is extremely protective about his 20 yr old son Adhyayan who made a debut earlier this year.

Now he is turning into a producer and he will produce films for his son. Talking about his much hyped relationship with Kangana Ranaut he says,

“He (Adhyayan) is just 20. How can he get married? He has to go a long way, ” Shekhar said.

Shekhar said he is confident that Adhyayan will get his due in Bollywood after the release of “Raaz” and “Jashn”.
